Electrical and Electronics Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Able to read and understand electrical and electronics schematics

  • Able to troubleshoot and solve electrical and electronics issues

  • Understand and able to work on single phase and 3 phase power systems

  • Able to think out of the box, improve a situation, impart knowledge and always looking to improve self-knowledge base

  • Produce electrical and electronics schematics or basic CAD drawings when required

  • Generate daily logs and job reports

  • To take lead and advise on company's electrical and electronics related matters

  • To upkeep PMS and maintenance data of ROV systems and tooling

  • To have a sufficient understanding of the equipment under his responsibility and to be able to satisfactorily test the equipment’s operation. Specific requirements for training or test equipment are to be advised to the ROV Manager

  • To prepare all required equipment, which includes: back-up equipment, spares, consumables, power supplies, the fabrication of brackets, tools, manuals, etc

  • To ensure workshop inventories are kept up to date

  • To actively participate in Operations, Quality Assurance and HSE group meetings

  • Carry out workshop procedures, by ensuring that for each item of equipment returned to the company’s premises after a project or hire, is thoroughly tested, before being labelled as checked and stored ready for the next project

  • Carry out maintenance and repair of ROV systems and tooling

  • Carry out PMS for ROV systems and tooling

  • Carry out pre-hire and post-hire inspection for ROV tooling

  • Custodian for workshop machineries and tools. Ensure machineries and tools are in good working order and raise any possible improvement or issues

  • To familiarize and master the working of ROV’s systems and tooling

  • To familiarize and aware of ROV IMCA requirements. Able to carry out internal ROV IMCA audits.

  • To prepare systems for mobilization and demobilization

  • To perform other related activities and special projects when required or assigned

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

  • Strong knowledge of electrical & electronics system components

 

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in electrical & electronics systems

  • Proficient in electrical and electronics CAD software will be an added advantage

  • Experience in operating forklift or other machinery will be an added advantage

  • Able to work with minimal supervision

  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Meticulous and attention to detail

  • Proactive and positive work attitude

  • Cost conscious in any decision taken, or any methods chosen
